May you live in interesting times …” – Chinese proverb

Today and now we are all living in the most interesting of times. Not least because the world, our economy and our life are often perceived as spinning into places of uncertainty and worry. No matter how you interpret this quote we can know that there exists both serious challenges and serious opportunities ahead of us. My question to you is … are you ready to make seriously positive changes in your life and well-being?

Life changing, life giving. An amazing journey begun. Love the fact you ( nigel ) are so available between the contact days. Many many thanks.

David Mills

This has truly been the best training / development event I have ever attended. I was totally taken out of my comfort zone, as the course was delivered in a totally different way to what I was used to.However the results were amazing. My own understanding and also understanding of others has improved vastly. My interest in NLP is now a passion and I can’t wait to develop my knowledge and skills further. Nigel is truly inspirational and wow! have I enjoyed myself. I never believed I would be able to ‘coach’ someone successfully, using a funny voice! Thank you so much.

Lorraine Lord

Angela Lynn

A very enjoyable and experiential course. The exercises are well thought out and assist the continued building and learning throughout the course. Nigel is very generous and willing to share his skills and experiences. He imparts just the right amount of theory between exercises to stimulate further learning of the material.

Bryan Wright

Sometimes it can feel as if of joy is being is excessively taxed by external events and situations that we can’t control. It can seem like our peace of mind and quality of life are largely dependent on external forces. Sometimes it can feel like we have lost the scent of our trail, the trail that can be described as our bliss. When fear, loss and worry are your instructors then it may be time to change class and explore ways in which you can be much more able and empowered to take back the innate sense of well-being that is our natural birthright.

Get ready for a journey. This course is life changing, you learn so much. before I joined this course I had worked in Learning & Development for 6 years and thought I had a full toolkit, how my mind has been opened & my toolkit increased. For anyone, make this course happen for yourself.

Neil Black – Senior Training Consultant

Don’t You Honestly Want To …

  • Get back on track again and live a more meaningful and purposeful life?
  • Learn to run your own mind and brain in better ways?
  • Have the tools and skills that promote well-being?
  • Be more able to generate highly resourceful states?
  • Learn hypnosis and hypnotic communication?

Your brain is ‘like‘ a computer, it is not a computer, it is like a computer. The brain is the most complex process we know and it comes without a users manual. NLP Practitioner training is one way you can ‘use your brain for a change and keep the change‘.

Attending this NLP Practitioner training course will of course not ensure you immediately find your ideal ‘job’ or vocation in life. It wont make you able to bullet proof and it won’t make you sudeenly an enlightened being. It may pave the ways to all of these with string foundations … the rest is really up to you …

The pace and practicality of the practitioner course were perfect in terms of identifying personal traits that I wanted to explore in my model of the world. I found ways to integrate the teachings I learned into a number of facets of both work and personal / social life. I fully recommend this course for personal development and life enhancement in general.

Tor Bruce – CEO Registered Charity

Spirituality In Coaching and Therapy – Newcastle NLP and Hypnosis Cafe Monday 7th February 7-9pm : Gosforth Library Newcastle NE3 3HD : £10 Including Biscuits. Book online below.

When we come direct from heart space we create an energetic connection that surpasses the concept of empathy or our multi-sensory capacity. In doing so we create the neutral void that two souls can share to explore, discover, test, challenge and shift. For us, this is our recipe for lasting and generative change.

So in this café Paula and Nigel will facilitate your unpacking of the deeper and more connecting ways in which yours and our therapeutic alliances work. How they are formed, how they grow and the effect and impact they have on our and the world.

We will open and share our thoughts and processes of how to develop co-created alliances by exploring the concepts of projections and reflections prior to, during and after a dynamic interaction. We will also consider projection and reflection in terms of attracting clients into your life for mutual healing and purposeful learnings.

Every person we meet has something to teach us, and every person has something to say that only they can say. We both believe we attract the clients that will help and be beneficial to our ongoing development. This may also include ‘healing’ your past. viz a vie we meet together to co-create something that is more than mutually beneficial …

From this place we’ll look at working from heart space that dynamically co-creates a change process as being fundamental in effective change and evolution work. We will show you how this offers a place that goes way beyond our understanding of rapport. Indeed it transcends the thoughts that if we shared some common value, belief, outcomes, goals and even purpose we can go anywhere in the relationship.

Trauma Resolution with Generative Change | Newcastle upon Tyne

A Trauma Resolution Workshop for Therapists, Counsellors, Hypnotherapists, Social Workers, Doctors, Nurses, Police and all People Helpers working with client trauma. Using Eye Movement Integration and Generative Change Techniques. A Brief Therapy and Solution Focused approach to working with Trauma.

Practically every change professional will work with client trauma in varying degrees. As a coach you need to have the tools to remove emotional bocks. As a therapist you will need to be able to robustly remove and dissolve client trauma. As a social worker or counsellor wouldn’t you like to help your clients quickly and safely move on from serious emotional episodes without all the pain or talking about this again and again? This is a much quicker, content free and client centred approach than CBT.

Newcastle upon Tyne
October 16-17

Cost £125

Eye Movement Integration is a very brief and content free process for resolving psychological traumas such as PTSD, intrusive memories, shame, guilt and other kinds undesirable emotional and identity imprints.

“This course offers so much even if, as I had, you’ve already learnt and used basic EMI techniques. It is exceptionally well presented and gives a thorough grounding in the theory and practice of EMI, including simple explanations of how and why it works. But in combining EMI and Time Line techniques it offers a new and extraordinarily effective procedure for the resolution of many types of symptom that can be linked to traumatic experience.” – Nick Rolfe

Most people during their life time have had experiences that have been traumatic, painful or negatively emotionally charged. These experiences, all kinds of problematic responses to past events, are all part of the rich tapestry of life and commonly know as Trauma, Grief, Guilt, PTSD, Shame. Usually the intensity of the experience fades in time and people are OK.

This is a robust process where it is absolutely unnecessary to become emotionally involved in your clients pain. This way you can run process and work rapidly towards helping your clients out of their pain whilst being compassionate.

Watch Nigel demonstrate the principles of Generative Change and Positive States

Watch Nigel demonstrate EMI  process during a training course

But other times there are one, two or more memories that just seem to pop up from nowhere or surface unannounced and then all the unwanted emotional energy is there. Its painful, unpleasant and unwanted. And very often, people suffer for long periods of time, way longer than is actually necessary.

As a counsellor, therapist or anyone who is working with client trauma, you want proven and recognised ways to help your clients out of the black emotional cloud of pain and suffering as rapidly and as ecologically as possible. Your clients are typically coming to see you because they are experiencing some form of emotional pain. All of the emotional states discussed above can be successfully treated and neutralised with Eye Movement Integration.

EMI is not EMDR. You do not need to belong to an elite group or have to pay thousands of pounds to use this Brief Therapy method.

EMI is a tiny, tiny fraction of the cost of EMDR training and is applied with precision and skills by the EMI practitioner, surprisingly easy to learn and a particularly robust clinical process.

I found the material and the presentation excellent, what I have seen of the Generative Change process fills some big gaps in my conventional NLP training and the EMI allow the body mind to connect and integrate the release of emotional issues in a very clear and clean way!

Feras Jerjis

EMI Background

Eye Movement Integration was developed by Steve and Connirae Andreas in America in 1989.

Watch Steve Andreas Demonstrate this process with a Vietnam Veteran.

The Neuro Linguistic Eye Accessing Model states when someone ‘thinks’, their eyes will typically move in some sequence. The sequence of unconscious eye movements will give clues and cues to how they are thinking. There is often a ‘sequence’ of eye movements ( and certain physiology ) when a person re-experiences troublesome and problematic memories.

As a person moves their eyes, their eye movement access specific brain locations and brain processing functions. Parts of the brain that are know to be active when we re-access memories overlap spatially, for example the auditory and visual cortex and as well the different processing functions integrate memory components to produce a full and integrated sensory experience of some memory.

By linking the full array of possible eye movements ( or a sub set ) when the client is associated into their undesired state, through eye movement sequences we intend to make all the clients neurological resources available to them to remove or neutralise all negatively charged emotional response to their problem emotional state.

Creative Block can effect anyone. Creative Block, Self Doubt and Lack of Motivation are not exclusive to writers, poets, scientist’s and the self employed. From time to time the vast majority of people quite literally lose their way. This is predominately due to emotional turmoil and a failure to truly believe in themselves.

In a recent BBC article the use of Hypnosis is shown to be used effectively to remove Creative Block and help people to return to serious productivity.

Read this BBC article on how hypnosis has been used effectively to remove Creative Block.

Changing Your Perception of Reality

This is both a self hypnosis exercise and equally a way to evolve how you perceive your worlds.

There is one very important sentiment I want to briefly explore before offering you a self-hypnosis exercise.

Firstly a quote

“Perception is Projection, what we see is the state of our mind projected outwards”

Once there was a wise woman. A seer if you like. A wondering man came to her village and asked “I am looking for a new village to live in and I want to know what this village is like

The seer replied “What was you last village like?

The wondering man replied “Oh it was awful, full of thieves, robbers and adulterers. The most frightful sort of people you can imagine.”

The seer replied “My friend this village is much like you last one full of the most frightful people you can imagine.

The wondering man left and went on to look for another village.

A day or two later another wondering man came to the village and asked the seer “I am looking for a new village to live in and I want to know what this village is like.

The seer replied “What was you last village like?

The wondering man replied “Oh it was wonderful, full of friendly and helpful loving people to say the least.”

The seer replied “My friend this village is much like you last one full of the most loving people you can imagine.

The wondering man decided to stay and made a home for himself.

Another way of saying this is what the mind expects tends to be found. Hypnosis is a way of purposefully altering our own perceptions in powerful ways.

Here is the exercise. This comes from one of Carlos Castaneda books describing his relationship with his mentor Don Juan. Its about purposefully altering perceptions, this is just one way hypnosis, an altered state of perception can be attained.

This exercise takes 15 minutes to do it properly. Practice once per day for just one week.

  1. Find a bush or shrub that you can see, that is both in shade and in the light.
  2. Concentrate your visual attention on just one specific spot that is in the shade. Focus on it entirely.
  3. For the next 15 minutes focus just on that one spot in the shade – until you begin to see a bush that is entirely made out of shadow. Notice that the shadow is at least 50% of the bush.

You need to do this in the form of an exercise. A ‘theoretical’ knowledge of this is not enough.

If you want to learn to alter your perceptions and reality – DO THE EXERCISE!

When you do this you will experience massive changes in your perception. This exercise is actually doing a huge amount of things – you will only notice what these are by doing the exercises …

Trauma Hypnotherapist Specialist Framing – Newcastle upon Tyne

Before a home is built the foundations are created. Everything rests on the foundations. Framing is like preparing the foundation for more effective hypnotherapy.

When working with clients successful neurolinguists and clinical hypnotherapists alike will use some kind of framing to assist clients in making changes easier. Framing also explains the hypnotherapeutic process to your client before they actually experience it.

This is recorded for the Newcastle upon Tyne workshop for therapists, counsellors and hypnotherapists on Trauma Resolution using Eye Movement Integration and Generative Change Methods by Nigel Hetherington.

NLP State Elicitation – Part Two

Following on from part one … some things to look out for are the client centred, associated modelling back, of the symbolic metaphor elicited from our client to our client.

Notice this is very different of the amazing and ‘dissociated’ Frank Farrelly type provocative therapy, usually symbolically modelled, in front of your client which is perceived as outside, or dissociated from of your client.

This process is about intensifying states and using elements of what could be called content imposition But the important aspect here is this kind of content imposition is very deliberate and based on the Clean TherapyTM model.
