NLP Demystified – Reframing

Reframing literally means changing some ‘unuseful’ meaning into a more positive or more useful meaning. This can also be described as casting something in a more positive light.

A quick example of this is a positive ‘by-product’ of the somewhat crippling rising cost of petrol.

There has been good news for motorists using a stretch of the M25 as high petrol prices have cut traffic congestion, figures have shown.

You may not agree with this and you may find this attempted deflection of the real severity of the situation rather reminiscent of a politicians speach and that is OK.  This simply serves to site a good example that the reframe may not be accepted.
