Neuro Linguistic Programming is a way to use language and behavioural change to better connect with people, including yourself, to create and foster the kinds of life experiences you want more of.
It is not a fad ( been around since 1980’s ) or magic bullet that promises riches and a shimmering life. It is a very practical and robust way of YOU changing YOU so YOU can get more of the life you want. The accent is on doing.
NLP is in common terms about understanding how you can change your attitudes, the way you communicate and your perspectives because real and generative change begins with you. The way you interpret the world, people, situations and even yourself dramatically affects how you feel. How you feel affects what and how you go about living.
In Newcastle a brief Google search will reveal around four well established NLP training providers in Newcastle and the North East. The prices for NLP Practitioner training are ( August 2013 ) as follows:
Still Point Solutions : 11 days @ £1480.0 [ unsure of time frame ]
Jay Arnot The NLP Coach : 12 days @ 1299 ( advertised as £299 – but this is the deposit ) over 3 months
Matt Hudson : 7 days @ 1299 : 991 [ 7 days straight ]
NLP North East : 20 days @ £850 [ one weekend a month over 10 months ]
Communicating Excellence : 18 days @ £695 [ 6 months ] or 9 days @ £595 [ 3 weeks ]
Not all, but at least one of these trainings are advertising deliverables that are absolutely ridiculous and unfounded in common psycho therapeutic practice. So you should check out each provider before committing to any training.
Make sure what is on offer is right for you because trainers, me included, have very different styles. Talk to your potential training provider and be alert for the hard sell and ridiculous promises. Have a conversation and notice afterwards how you actually feel about the training and the training provider. This is very important.
